Delivery Pipe

The delivery pipe is what conducts the pressurized water from the pump to spigots and faucet valves. Submersible pumps have the delivery pipe directly connected to the top of the pump which then leads into the pressure tank. The above ground water pumps have the delivery pipe leading from the top of the pumping chamber and into the pressure tank.

A break in the pressurized delivery pipe will be noticeable as the pump will constantly cycle when all valves or faucets are closed. The break may be difficult to find if the pipe runs underground from the well source to the home.  Underground leaks may show themselves in the form of a heavy wet spot or standing water in the yard or landscape.
